Art Crush: Urs Fischer

Installation art is probably my most favorite of all mediums.  This guy gets a bad wrap and has had some negative reviews, but I can’t help but love him.

He is also known for having bad tattoos:Street art by Roberta Thorn (love her!)

I say, if you have tattoos at all, you have to have a few bad ones.  I know I have a few shameful ones!

I walk by this gate on the way to the train, and originally photographed the beautiful lighting and color juxtaposition. Now it’s fall, and the beauty has died which is worthy of a photo, as well.

Art Crush:Walton Ford

I recently discovered Walton Ford, and he is brilliant.  He combines realistic paintings featuring birds and elephants and other gorgeous wildlife with black humor and satire.  I hope one day to be able to measure my success by hanging a giant work of his in my boudoir.

And now for some highlights:

AND he likes taxidermy? So perhaps it’s less of an art crush, and a real crush crush.  *sigh*

Stuff on my Desktop:Stuff that Halston likes

I have a few images that are lingering on my desktop that I adore, but have no idea where they came from.  I find a lot of things on photo or fashion blogs, and even when I tineye these images, nothing comes up of any substance.  If anyone knows the sources of these gems, I would be delighted to know.
